STELLITE TRACE OPTIMIZATION

Several specific shapes of metal frames, called stellites, for removable partial dentures. Here are the different forms of stellite discussed:

The Full Plate:
Used for treatment of distal edentulism.
Rests largely on the palatal arch.
Is undercut at the level of the teeth, limited anteriorly by a line joining the occlusal supports.
Posteriorly, it is slightly indented near the junction of the hard palate with the soft palate.

The Full Cover Plate:
The anterior base rests on the cingulum of the remaining teeth with necessary preparations on these teeth.
Indicated for the treatment of large-scale classes I, II, and IV.
The posterior border is located at the junction of the hard palate with the soft palate.

The Double Palatal Bar (Double Spaced Plate):
Composed of two bars connected by two symmetrical side segments, avoiding residual teeth.
Its half-ring section and its thickness ensure its rigidity.
Indicated for medium to large intercalated gaps.

The Narrow Plate (Simple Palatal Plate):
Its outline is inscribed between two lines connecting the proximal faces of the teeth bordering the edentulous sectors.
Slightly thick in the center to ensure rigidity.
Used for treatment of embedded edentulism requiring dental support only.

“U” or Horseshoe connection:
Can have two different lines for the anterior part depending on the remaining teeth.
Its posterior limit encompasses the tuberosities while being parallel to the ridge ridge.
Indicated in the presence of a large torus, in distal edentulous patients and for patients with a gag reflex or a deep palatal arch.
